Having just sold our 1996 Trans Sport Van with 117K miles, I ran across this one on Craig's list. I wasn't looking for a new van, but the miles, only 56K is what caught my attention. While only one year newer than the one I had just sold, 1997 was the year Pontiac redesigned this van. I didn't call and had no plans on buying it. Over the next few weeks, I watched the price drop every week. Also during that time, my son bought some new rims, and it came to my attention that I no longer had any cars that could carry large items. I called the owner, and found out the following information on this van. He was selling it for his mom, who was the original owner with her husband. His father had ordered the van back in 1997, with every option including CD player and alarm. His father passed away shortly after getting the van, and his mom had been the only driver since that time. After talking price, I was able to get this van for only a couple of thousand over what I had sold my old van for. So I went from 117K miles on a base van, to 56K miles on a newer, fully loaded van. In only a few months with us, we have taken my daughter up north to college with her furniture, picked up three sets of chrome rims, two sets of tires, and one rear hatch for a Trans Am. And I see many more adventures in the near future for our new van.
