We took three of our cars to a Pontiac show in Orange County CA.

My red 69 Firebird 400 in the middle.

My Blue with gold trim 79 Trans Am again in the middle.

This was the first car show we attended since we started buying these cars.

We took third place in this category.

Regional Convention

September 30; October 1-2, 2005

The 2005 Pontiac Western Regional Convention was held at Bass Lake this year. It was a great venue, and a nice car show. Approximately 186 cars made it to this event. I took my 1979 Blue Trans Am, and my son drive his 2000 NHRA Trans Am up for the event. It took us just over five hours, and we made it with out any issues and break downs. I was lucky at this event, and took first place in the stock 1970-1981 category. Every one treated us great, and the event was done well. A great group of Pontiac people to be sure.

The Ventura County GTO club had a Santa Barbara cruise day. Meeting at Malibu Bluffs to the front of Pepperdine University, we proceeded north along the ocean route called Pacific Coast Highway. We took the 101 northbound, where some of the cars appeared to have some issues with keeping at the 55 mph speed limit. I wanted to make sure they were ok, and did not have an emergency, so I had to reach speeds of 100 mph to verify they were ok. No awards, just a day of driving and eating.

As we were on the freeway, several of us, yes, me included, passed a CHP unit that had some car stopped for unknown reasons. I hope it wasn't for speeding! As several of us dropped to under 80 mph as we passed him, it was kind of funny.

We took three of our cars to a Pontiac show in Orange County CA. It was called a show and shine, and cars were not judged in classes. Just a fun event.

My son attended this event alone, taking his 2000 Trans Am. I just stopped by to say hi. It was a Chevy show, but had a second for non Chevy cars.

Central Valley Classic Car Show

We took two of our cars to this Pontiac show in Madera County CA. My 1985 Trans Am Convertible, and my daughter's 2004 GTO. She took second place in her class, and I followed suit by winning third in my event. We arrived the night before, and were treated to a free BBQ dinner. After the show, we were on the road again, taking our cars to the Ventura car show the next day.

We arrived in Ventura Saturday night, and took our two cars to this Pontiac show. I won second place here in my Black 1985 Trans Am. The weather was great for me, cloudy almost all day. That is my favorite type of day. Go figure, since I was driving a convertible~~~

In El Toro California

We were able to take four cars to this show, since it was closer to home. I took my new 1969 Firebird 400 convertible, and my 1985 Trans Am convertible. My son took his 2000 NHRA Trans Am, and my daughter took the 1988 Fiero GT. We took a 2nd place with the Fiero, and 3rd with the 85 Trans Am.

About 60 miles from our home, we took two cars to this event. The 2000 Trans Am, and the 1979 Trans Am. We got to meet Jay Leno, and took some pictures by my Trans Am.

40th Anniversary F-body Car Show

About 60 miles from our home, we tried something different. We took four cars to this event, one of each generation of the Firebird. We started with the 1969 Firebird 400 (First Generation), the 1985 Tran Am Roadster (2nd Generation), the 1979 Trans Am (Third Generation), and finally the 2000 Trans Am (Fourth Generation). We did well, winning best in two of the four generations.

20th Annual SCC POCI Fuddruckers All Pontiac Show

In Lake Forest, CA

We took four (4) cars, and came home with five (5) trophies, including my first "Best of Show" award. Our best showing by far.
