Here was my 1969 Firebird
convertible, stock and in excellent shape. Powered by a stock 350 Engine with an automatic transmission. The options were limited, but included power windows, power steering, power top, and stock AM radio. Rust free and clean, it also had the original PMD hubcaps and body side moldings.
I found the car at CSU Fullerton with a for sale sign on it. A younger
male owned it, but was being forced to sell by his mother after getting a couple
of tickets. If I remember correctly, it had just over 69K miles when I got
it. After speaking with the owner, I added this car to my collection.
I paid $5150 cash for it back then after some bargaining. After getting
the car home, I found some paperwork from the original owner in the car. I
called him to try and get some history on this car. He informed me that he
went to the dealer with his brother back in 1969, and both bought a 1969
Firebird Convertible. I don't remember the state he got it in, but it was
back east, like Indiana. After just one year, he moved to Southern
California. He kept it garaged and rust free until he sold it to the young
man I bought it from. Even though this car was low optioned, drum brakes
and all, I liked it, had fun in it, and wish I had never sold it.
