2002 Cadillac Deville DHS

Ever since I sold my Bonneville SLE to buy the Grand Prix GTP, we have been without a four (4) door car.  I missed the convenience of the extra doors, and the better riding of a heavier car.  We enjoy attending Laker and Clipper basketball games, concerts, and I enjoy weekend getaways.  The two doors were just not cutting it.  So in November and December, I started looking around for a nice used, low mileage Bonneville.  Oh, and I wanted a really great price.  Don't I always.  I also heard good things about the Cadillac Deville, with its large trunk, and air ride suspension.  So I started looking at them as well.  After searching for two months, I found a nice 2003 Bonneville SLE with 49,000 miles, here in Southern California.  I found it on Craig's list, and called the same day it was advertised, and was set to see it first thing in the morning.  I called before heading out to see it, only to find out that the owner's next door neighbor jumped me on the car and bought it the night before.   So my car was gone, and the search continued.  Then it happened.  This car showed up on Autotrader.com about a week later.  Listed as a one owner, low mileage car that had been traded in for a new car at the dealership.  The ad only showed stock press photos of the car, but no actual pictures of the car for sale.  I did my normal research on the 2002 Deville, and I was impressed.  After calling the dealer, I spoke to the salesman and we agreed to a price, pending my approval of the car once I had seen the car in person.  The car was in Vacaville, about 6 hours from me.  With this agreement in hand, my son and I started up to Northern California early Monday morning.  The stock photos showed the standard Deville sedan, with no real extras.  To be honest, on the drive up, I was a little disappointed and had the feeling that I was settling on this car, as opposed to getting the car I really wanted.  My old Bonneville had leather seats, sun roof, chrome rms, etc.  This one showed none of those, but it had such low miles, and the ride was suppose to be second to none.  As we arrived, I didn't the car to front, so we pulled into the back of the dealership.  And there it sat, waiting for a new owner.  The first thing I noticed was the chrome rims it was sitting on.  As we approached the car, I noticed the car did have a sun roof, and leather interior.  And on the rear bumper of the car was a logo that read "DHS", also know as the deluxe edition Deville.  The DHS edition has all the options included.  Sunroof, Chrome rims, Leather, Power everything, Seat Massage, Parking Sensors, and the best part was still the mileage.  It had just turned 22,000 miles.  So with that, we were off on our test ride.  The ride was even better than I expected, and the car came dealer certified.  After filling out some paperwork, and writing a check, we were on our way back home with a new car.

At home after the trip, waiting for a nice wash, wax and seal.  Watching over it include our Firehawk, Formula, Corvette, and Grand Prix
